[Hankyung] GAONCHIPS to enter Japan... Signed MOU with Toyota subsidiary Tomen Devices

GAONCHIPS, a system semiconductor development company, announced on February 19 that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Tomen Devices Corporation of the Toyota Group to strengthen strategic collaboration and expand order activities in the Japanese system semiconductor market.

Tomen Devices is the largest semiconductor trading company in Japan with annual sales of ¥417.6 billion (based on 22 years) and is a distributor and marketer of semiconductor products and electronic components produced by Samsung Electronics. Since its establishment in 1992, it has accumulated more than 30 years of business know-how in the semiconductor market and a global network in more than 90 countries around the world.

GAONCHIPS is the only Samsung Foundry's Design Solution Partner with a local subsidiary in Tokyo, Japan (GAONCHIPS JAPAN), and on February 8, GAONCHIPS achieved a major achievement by winning a project worth $42 million.

Through this agreement, the two companies plan to expand their share of the custom semiconductor design and foundry business in the Japanese market, leveraging Tomen Devices' expertise and sales network in the Japanese semiconductor market and GAONCHIPS' system semiconductor design technology.
